Esther Yang . . . Tudor City resident, states that she is
frustrated with what she sees as a torpid, corrupted
Albany government. This has impelled her into the race. With
most major decisions effectively under what she calls
the three blind mice the governor, the Assembly
speaker and the State Senate majority leader, New
Yorkers have suffered.

Seeing the plans for the proposed high-rise
development, which would be located on First Avenue - this Con Edison site made Esther Yang feel that the future of the community would be hurt beyond repair. She feels that her daughter is in danger of the
Albany status quo.

"I' m running because I just want to rock the boat",
she said.

The district covers some of the city's most beautiful and historic neighborhoods, including portions of the Lower East Side, The East Village-Alphabet City, Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village, Waterside Plaza, Union Square East, Irving Place, Gramercy Park, East Midtown Plaza, Phipps Plaza-Renwick Gardens, Kips Bay, Tudor City, and Turtle Bay.
